Crazy Month of June

We have had a very busy and fun month of June. The first weekend we headed to Boise for my nephew's, Kasen, baby blessing. It was just a quick trip but it was nice to see the family. Saturday we had a bbq at the park. We played a very exciting game of botchy ball. It was the inlaws, Bryce and Greg, versus the outlaws, the rest of us. The inlaws killed us though. The second game was Bryce and I against my Dad and Greg. Me and Bryce lost. Is anyone else seeing the pattern?



The following week I had a class in Pocatello. Chris and Jen were kind enough to let me stay with them for week. It was great to spend time with the girls and Jay. I had class all day and then the girls kept me busy in the evenings. One night Jen had a Young Women's activity where they were going to go to a kickboxing class. Some how she convinced me to go. Let's just say I was sore for DAYS afterwards. While I was gone Bryce came down with the flu. Luckily he survived without me, but I felt bad I wasn't there to take care of him.



I got back from Pocky, repacked my bags and head to Vegas. We went with our friends the Phillips and their friends the Jaques. We stayed at the Planet Hollywood which was really nice. The first night we went to the Cirque de Soliel show KA. It was absolutely amazing. If you have the chance to see it, I would definitely recommend it. We were taking some pictures before the show, and got yelled at for taking pictures. (oops)

We spent most of the trip sitting by the pool which was very nice. We gambled a little. The first day I won $30 on the penny slots. I was so excited. Bryce won $15 dollars playing Blackjack. We tried our luck the next day and did not do as well. I lost $34 and Bryce lost $10. All-in-all not too bad. We also went to Old Vegas a couple of time. We had never been there before so it was it was really neat. On the last day me and Amanda decided to get tattoos. Don't worry it was fake.

We got back Monday night and had to get back to our normal lives for a few days then we were back on the road. This time we headed to Idaho Falls for Skylar's birthday. (one of Bryce's friends for high school) It was great to see a bunch of Bryce's friends and catch up with them. It was just a quick trip up there and back because then we were off to Arbon. Bryce's parents and met us out there with Cassie's kids. We were hoping for good weather so we could play outside but the weather did not cooperate. It stopped raining long enough for us to roast hotdogs and marshmallows for lunch. They went for a ride up the canyon playing in the puddles while I took a long nap :) It was great to be able to spend father's day weekend with both of our fathers. We had a great time. I really appreciate my dad letting us come invade his house.

School's Out For the Summer!!

It's official, I survived my first year of teaching! I had such a great year, every one says your first year is the hardest so if it only gets better from here I can't wait. My students worked so hard this year and really made my first year a success.

A couple of weeks before school was out I ran into my old bosses from The GoodTimber. They had an opening for the summer which they offered to me. I was so grateful to find a job so fast and they are great to work with. I started last week and it's taken a little bit of time for me to remember everything.

This weekend was the first weekend that finally felt like summer. My aunt and uncle and their kids came down for the weekend. The boys started the weekend out with an exciting golf game. Chris ended up winning. When they got back us girls went shopping. We spent the afternoon at the pool. It was such a nice day and we had a great time. We loved having them visit and hope they come back soon.

Yardwork and Birthdays

For the last couple of weekends we have been working on cleaning up our yard. The previous owners were big on gardening however we are not. They had a garden all along the perimeter of the property so we decided to plant it all to grass. Bryce's parents came down this weekend and on Friday we rented a rowdatiler and then put some grass seed down. We already have a little bit of grass coming up. It's very exciting. My mom came this week and helped me plant flowers. We didn't really know what we were doing but I think we did a good job. I'm excited to watch everything blossom.









We also had a birthday party for Bryce. He turned the big 27! We just had some family and friends over for a bbq. A few days later we celebrated our 2 year anniversery. It's hard to believe we have been married two years. But I have to admit that it's been a great two years and we're looking forward to many more.

4 Bedspreads Later

A couple of weekends ago we bought a new bedroom set and I absolutely love it. The only problem, it didn't all fit in our room. We could only fit three of the five pieces, but I'm sure we'll use it all in the future. Ever since we bought the bed I've been trying to find a new bedspread. I kept buying them, not liking them, and then taking them back. I did this about 3 times until I finally found one that I really liked.

So we had a bit of a crazy Easter weekend. It started Friday night when we delivered my Dad's new truck to him in Arbon. Bryce was so jealous. I'm pretty sure he wanted to keep the truck for himself. My Dad was quite excited about having a new truck too. But I'm pretty sure Dustin will be taking it over when he gets back from his mission.














On Saturday Bryce spent the day helping my Dad get some projects done on the farm. They did everything from moving vehicles to changing the starter in a tracker. I really appreciate Bryce being so willing to help my Dad. I know my Dad really appreciates the help too, especially with Dustin being gone. Late that afternoon we left Arbon and headed straight to Burley. We had plans to hang out with one of Bryce's high school buddies, Brooks. We ate at my favorite resturant, the Drift. They have the most delicious finger steaks. On a whim we decided to head to Jackpot, Nevada. Me and Brooks had never been before. We got there around 10:30, gambled for a couple of hours, ate some nasty breakfast, and then headed home. Bryce and Brooks played blackjack the whole night while I watched and played the penny slots. We didn't win anything but we had a great time. We didn't get home until about 4:00 in the morning. So we spent the next day catching up on our sleep.

Bingham Update

So it's been a while since my last post so I thought I'd give every one an update. Currently Bryce and I are just both working. Bryce works at Miller Autobody fixing cars and he loves it. He has worked at a few different shops in the valley and this seems to be the best fit. I am working at Malad High School teaching math. I teach Math Essentials, Algebra, and Pre-Calculus. I, too, love my job. I love the students that I teach (most days); they keep me laughing all day. My biggest worry about teaching in Malad was making the commute everyday, especially during the winter. However, it really hasn't been that bad. I only had one emotional break down after the first and worst snow storm of the year.

Last summer, Bryce and I bought our first house and it's absolutely perfect. This year the house will be a century old. We have spent the last year making this house into our home. We haven’t had to do a lot, just a little painting and cleaning all the junk out of the shop/garage. The house was in great condition when we moved in. We’re excited for this summer so we can get some work done outside. Our plans include putting in a new fence, planting some grass, and redoing the retaining wall.

When we bought the house the previous owners left use a letter explaining that they started feeding a stray cat and it usually stays around the house. Bryce and I are not really cat people but we fell in love with this cat. Her name is Indiana but Bryce likes to call her Huey. She has such an attitude and keeps us entertained. She is also quite the “killing machine,” we find bird feathers outside all the time. I’m pretty sure she thinks she owns the house and just lets us stay in it. We like to joke that we bought a really expensive cat and they threw in a house.
